Under the Slogan "The Pulse of Qatar is Our Goal"
The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), represented by the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), will organize the third edition of Tarsheed Summer Camp from June 28 to July 23, 2020, under the slogan "The Pulse of Our Goal". The camp will be organized remotely this year due to the global current conditions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and the observance of social distancing as part of the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
The summer camp is part of the summer efforts of the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) to raise awareness among community members about the culture of conservation, with the aim of achieving the Program’s goals to reduce electricity and water consumption, promote energy efficiency, lower harmful carbon emissions and preserve the environment according to the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals.
Many youth centers as well as government and private agencies will be participating in the Tarsheed Summer Camp by providing age-appropriate educational videos and workshops related to water and energy conservation and environmental sustainability, with innovative methods and techniques suitable for online remote participation and in par with the camp’s 2020 slogan that sheds light on available energy resources, the need to contribute to its sustainability and preservation for future generations, and the necessity to reduce environmental damage to make Qatar pulse with life.

It is worth noting that the Tarsheed Summer Camp is an annual event organized by KAHRAMAA. The first edition of the camp was launched in 2018 and witnessed a large participation from summer and youth centers. Last year’s edition entitled “Enjoy Summer with Tarsheed” consisted of a number of different activities and events held in the KAHRAMAA Awareness Park that included theatrical performances, awareness lectures, tours of garden facilities, storytelling, and recycling workshops; and it garnered great success and a significant turnout due to the diversity of activities and collaborations.
