KAHRAMAA accomplished ready-made distribution substation in a record time

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” managed to implement a model for electricity distribution substation from a ready-made concrete in a record time by using the state of the art modern construction technology.

This achievement comes within KAHRAMAA endeavor to accelerate project completion as per the highest quality.

KAHRAMAA’s Electricity Networks Affairs investigated ways to make use of all modern constructions techniques to reduce substation construction period. It managed to construct a distribution substation in 35 days using the ready-made concrete instead of 90 days by the transitions ways. The substation was constructed by moving and installing these elements using the modern construction technology where many traditional construction stages were escaped including (bricks, carpentry and armed blacksmithing works, pouring concrete etc..). Working hours in the substation reached 350 hours without lost time injury (LTI).

Setting substation design began in April after approving architectural and construction designs, and getting the required permissions from relevant authorities. Implementation started at the beginning of May while the construction elements (concrete bases, walls, ceilings, etc.) were prepared in a specialized factory. Construction works were completed in mid-June. The site is well equipped and observes all security and safety standards.

This modern technology can be utilized to cope with the rapid urban development the State witnesses and to accelerate customer provision with electricity services. It comes within KAHRAMAA endeavor to achieve its mission of providing high quality and sustainable electricity and water for better living in Qatar. KAHRAMAA seeks to keep harmony among economic, social, and environmental activities to achieve its development objectives. This project is an outstanding achievement in electricity distribution technology.

​يعمل مركز اتصالات كهرماء لتزويدك بمعلومات عامة تتعلق بدفع فواتيرك، والتوصيلات الجديدة والحالية، ويعمل المركز على مدار الساعة للاستجابة لطوارئ الكهرباء والمياه. يمكنك الإبلاغ عن أي مشكلة أو عارض و تتبع إجراءات الاستجابة.
يطبق  مركز الاتصال 991 نظام نظام الرد التفاعلي (IVR)، ليساعدك على تقليل وقت الإنتظار على الهاتف والتحدث مع مشغل البدالة. ويجب أن يكون رقم الكهرباء والمياه في المتناول ليمكنك استخدامه أثناء الاتصال. ويعمل موظفو خدمات المشتركين في خدمتكم خلال ساعات الدوام من السبت إلى الخميس من كل أسبوع.
