Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has organized “Engineers Forum 2024", with the attendance of a group of engineers and experts from various fields of the Corporation's departments. The event was held on Monday, 21 October 2024 at the Plaza hotel in Qatar, and aimed to strengthen the role of engineers within the Corporation, enhancing communication and knowledge exchange between engineers. It also aimed to discover the capabilities and potential of Qatari engineers. This forum also aimed to promote the culture of innovation, driving progress and employee satisfaction in the work environment.
The forum has included a tour in the innovation exhibition, that featured nine sections. The Qatari engineers presented their latest innovations that contribute to promoting renewable energy and sustainability. This innovation included applications for electricity and water consumption reduction, an electric vehicle charging stations monitoring the platform, and other advanced technological solutions. Moreover, projects such as gas storage solutions for renewable energy, a drone-based project for inspecting overhead power lines, and an automated system for switching electrical distribution boards were presented. These innovations reflect the high level of expertise and creativity presented by Qatari engineers.
A film has been presented that highlighted KAHRAMAA's achievements and affective role in promoting capabilities. During the forum, His Excellency Engineer Issa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), emphasized the vital role that KAHRAMAA engineers play in achieving the corporation's goals and developing its services. He highlighted that engineers form the backbone of KAHRAMAA's success in achieving its future vision. The papers and discussions presented mark a significant step toward enhancing efficiency and continuing the Corporation's progress. He pointed out that supporting engineering creativity is important to achieve the Corporation's objectives, stressing that KAHRAMAA is committed to investing in engineering expertise for national development.
The event included a discussion panel where several experts engaged in dialogues about the latest challenges facing the engineering sector. A special session was also held to honor several distinguished guests. in addition, research papers have been presented by engineers highlighted innovative engineering projects and technologies. Moreover, a dedicated session titled “The Engineer's Idea" provided the young engineers opportunities to present their innovative ideas, to promote their spirit of creativity and critical thinking.
In recognition of KAHRAMAA's long-standing commitment to excellence, the Corporation has honored its employees for their outstanding contributions to sustainability initiatives. The forum also witnessed the participation of university students, where two prominent initiatives were shared with the audience. The first initiative focused on the development of Qatar's first electric car, and the second one is about enhancing smart solutions in the field of renewable energy, reaffirming the commitment of the new generation to sustainability.
By the end of the forum, the distinguished participants were honored in appreciation of their active contributions to the success of the event.
