Foreman (Electrical)

Description:

The role holder is responsible for ensuring the effective conduct of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all of Kahramaa's electrical equipment (MV & LV) across Kahramaa facilties and offices.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensures effective implementation of the maintenance plan covering electrical equipment across all Kahramaa and rented facilities and offices.
  • Supervises onsite inspection of mega volt electrical works conducted by contractors, as per work requests received and evaluates their performance thus suggesting them with approaches to provide effective services.
  • Supervises preventive and corrective maintenance activities conducted by contractors for all electrical equipment and services, in case of routine and breakdown of electrical equipment or machinery.
  • Monitors maintenance of the electrical equipment/systems in order to achieve the objective of providing uninterrupted services thereby meeting design parameters resulting into optimum energy utilization and users comfort.
  • Supervises modification and replacement works conducted by contractors for all electrical equipment or machinery.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates installation of electrical systems and controls all maintenance activities in accordance with Kahramaa regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and executes replacement and new installation of mega volt electrical equipment, for which the contractor does not provide services.
  • Conducts administrative works related to the on-going electrical work contracts.
  • Ensures regular servicing of electrical equipment and maintains logs of all the maintenance activities conducted, on a periodic basis.
  • Ensures all maintenance activity is carried out in a safe manner and is in compliance with Kahramaa's standards.
  • Participates in preparation of maintenance schedules for new and existing electrical equipment in line with vendor recommendations and guidelines.
  • Prepares status/progress reports periodically and submits to Engineer – Electrical.
  • Prepares technical report on electrical equipment/systems and recommends remedial alternatives/ improvement areas to the management to initiate better maintenance of the electrical equipment.
  • Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement section on securing and maintain the ISO / Risk Management / ISMS certification
  • Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations

    Self-Management Responsibilities:
  • Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
  • Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
  • Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth


Qualifications:

High Diploma in Electrical Engineering 


More than 8 years of experience in a similar industry and/or position with minimum 4 years of relevant supervisory experience preferably in electrical equipment maintenance area.
