Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” organizes
Engineer’s Day for the second year in a row on Tuesday March 6, 2018, under the
patronage and in the presence of KAHRAMAA President, HE Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al-Kuwari.
The event witnessed the presence of a number of prominent figures in the
field of engineering, as KAHRAMAA hosted HE. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al-Muhannadi,
President of the Public Works Authority as this year’s guest of honor, Eng.
Abdulaziz Ishaq, chairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers, among other
figures as well as KAHRAMAA Directors, Managers, Head of Sections and
engineers, along with engineering students at the Qatar University and Hamad
Bin Khalifa University.
This annual event aims at highlighting the role of engineers in the
country, promoting communication and the exchange of expertise among engineers,
raising awareness regarding challenges and best engineering practices, as well
as exploring the capacities and innovations of talented young engineers.
The event included the screening of a short film about KAHRAMAA’s most
important achievements as one of the country’s leading corporations and a key partner
in the comprehensive development Qatar witnesses, as well as the role of
engineers in its achievements.
The guest of honor, Ashghal President HE. Dr.
Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al-Muhannadi shared highlights in his professional career
and work experience as well as tips needed to achieve professional excellence, objectives,
and advancement.
The gathering featured the presentation of KAHRAMAA engineers working
papers: “Visible Light-Based Communication System”, presented by Eng. May Abdullah
Al-Nasser, “Financial Aspect of Project Management”, jointly presented by Eng. Rashid
Hussain Rahimi and Ms. Wadha Mohammed Al-Marri, “Wide-Area Monitoring System”,
presented by Eng. Noura Ali Al-Durham, and “Smart Meters and Remote Readings”,
presented by Eng. Munira Rashid Al-Marri.
On this year’s celebration of Engineer’s Day, KAHRAMAA also organized an
accompanying exhibition in which the most important projects and initiatives
adopted by the Corporation were presented. These include the Creativity and
Innovation Incubator, the KAHRAMAA Smart Initiative, the Project Follow-up
Initiative, and the Appropriate Solutions Initiative.
At the end of the ceremony, KAHRAMAA President HE Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al-Kuwari
honored each of the guest of honor, the presenters of working papers, and the
participants in the exhibition.
It is worth noting that this event is part of the KAHRAMAA ongoing effort
to attract, develop and retain a high-performing workforce and support
Qatarization, given that the event aims at highlighting the role of the
engineer as an essential human asset crucial to the achievement of the KAHRAMAA
objectives.
