KAHRAMAA connects electricity and water to unconstructed land lots

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” announced that it has already started works on the first phase of connecting electricity and water to unconstructed land lots.

It comes within KAHRAMAA efforts, in coordination concerned authorities to provide high quality services to customers as per its mission of providing high quality and sustainable electricity and water for better living in Qatar.
The project goes in three phases as per the urban development of areas. The phase one of the project will cover new areas where all the plots of lands are still remaining to be developed. The second phase will cover areas which have been developed partially, while the third and the final phase will include areas that have almost been developed but some plots are still lying empty or undeveloped.

Eng. Ahmed Al-Malki, Head of Construction Section, said: “this step is meant to stop frequent and repeated excavation, especially in residential areas.” adding that KAHRAMAA installs high quality ready-made concrete walls at different places with connection of water and electricity so that services can be provided immediately.” The project is followed up by H.E Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, KAHRAMAA President. Under the first phase of the ongoing project, KAHRAMAA has already established 45 electricity and water service boxes at various plots. As part of this ambitious infrastructure development project, KAHRAMAA is going to establish 2,000 electricity stations in different areas to provide electricity and water to potential customers. Under the network development project, KAHRAMAA is laying two types of power lines HV (2,400km) and MV (2,400km). The voltage of electricity will vary between 35 ampere and 200 ampere. “now customer has only to apply for service connection where service will be connected in three days after providing the building permit and as per the applicable conditions.” He added.

Eng. Mohammed Usman Al-Khlifi, Head of Field Connection, Water Networks Affairs said that KAHRAMAA improves services provided to customers to cope with the development the State witnesses. “the project should minimize tankers and ensure high quality water to customers” he added.

All such initiatives come within KAHRAMAA continuous development of services. KAHRAMAA places the customer at the heart of decision making to ensure a relentless focus on the customer’s needs. Giving the urban development Qatar witnesses, KAHRAMAA has recently taken various initiatives to provide high quality services and introduce continuous improvement to ensure customer satisfaction.
