Kahramaa’s Smart Phone Application Wins First Place in the Wsis 2021 Competition

​KAHRAMAA accomplishes a distinguished presence at the highest IT levels.

KAHRAMAA’s Mobile Application – Employee Section won first place in the E-Employment Category for the winning e-projects at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS-2021) Awards organized under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). KAHRAMAA’s mobile application features, and modern and practical design garnered the recognition of some of the most renowned international experts. This allowed it to take the lead among select e-projects that were developed in various parts of the world, including 10 projects from Qatar that qualified for the third round (the voting round).

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS-2021) is the most prominent international platform for showcasing the most successful and notable e-projects, and this year it drew many candidates, including government agencies, companies, civil society institutions, international organizations, academic bodies and others. Qatar, on its part, qualified to the third round of evaluation (the voting round) with 10 e-projects representing several Qatari sectors and government agencies. KAHRAMAA took the lead and was the only agency from Qatar to qualify to the fourth and final stage of evaluation, to go on after that to win first place in its category, thus trumping the other 5 international projects nominated from around the world.

This application was developed to go in par with KAHRAMAA’s objectives to achieve integration between quality and modernization, and to improve the users’ experience and meet their diverse needs. It includes more than 30 digital services developed in cooperation with the Human Resources Department at KAHRAMAA, which provides employees with all their needs and offers them the required information around the clock. These services include, leave request, e-work card, employee’s working days and working hours tracker, certification request and receipt, in addition to access to the latest offers, deals and discounts provided to employees by KAHRAMAA’s partners, and many other services that facilitate and speed up all procedures, and contribute to improving workflow efficiency and increasing staff productivity. 

Since its establishment, KAHRAMAA has been keen to keep pace with the latest technologies in all fields, and this has been reflected in customers’ satisfaction and quality of services, in meeting corporate social responsibilities and complying with QNV 2030. This application helped reduce the rates of dependence on traditional paper transactions among employees and contributed to supporting and encouraging the use of electronic means to complete transactions and issue documents, which in turn complies with KAHRAMAA’s goals of preserving the environment and resources and helps build and consolidate a culture of sustainability in daily practices.

This application has also helped in reducing the rates of COVID-19 spread, by providing employees with an integrated alternative to personal attendance to complete their transactions, and it also provided them with the ability to send a contactless e-business card. KAHRAMAA’s move to e-transactions has significantly contributed to reducing the rates of infection and damage caused by the pandemic. Efforts are still ongoing within the corporation to modernize all operations and keep abreast of the latest developments in the technical field to achieve the best results and ensure the highest levels of service.​
