KAHRAMAA and Qatar University sign MOU

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “KAHJRAMAA” and Qatar University signed on Tuesday 26/6/2018 at KAHRAMAA Awareness Park, a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in science, innovation, creativity, administration, technical and research fields.

 

 

The MOU was signed respectively by KAHRAMAA President H.E. Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari and Dr. Hassan Bin Rashed Al Derham - President of Qatar University in the presence of members of the incubator team.

 

The MOU stipulated mutual cooperation in the fields of expertise, information, organization of studies, researches, workshops, conferences and meetings of mutual interest to raise both parties performance efficiency according to the overall quality standards out of full confidence in the efficient and dynamic role of ministries and government authorities in the service of the country and society.     

The Memorandum also included implementation mechanism by forming joint committees and teams, holding meetings for coordination in common areas and periodically reviewing its implementation and assessing results thereof with the possibility of developing, through separate agreements, one or more executive program between the various administrative sectors of both parties.

 

On this occasion, KAHRAMAA President H.E. Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al-Kuwari said "creativity and innovation are nowadays the pivot of performance development. The Corporation adopted a culture to promote creativity, innovation and development by launching an incubator for creative people and support them, by creating a stimulating and positive work environment to launch creative ideas and turn them into innovations”.

 

Indeed it is through our drive to develop internal and external partnerships to exchange expertise and experiences and out of our belief in the vital and effective role that all ministries and government authorities play in serving the country and society, working with partners with proven scientific track record will be an added value and contribute to facing challenges with means and ways that enhance performance and achieve  the ambitious Vision of Qatar 2030.

 

As for Dr. Hassan Bib Rashed Al Derham, President of Qatar University, he said “this Memorandum will have a positive impact on both signing parties since it offers them better opportunities to develop their respective works in creative and innovative ways. Innovation and creativity play a crucial role in the University’s activities and academic programs. We urge our students to rely on innovation and creativity as a behavior and approach in academic researches and extracurricular activities. Besides, we disseminate this culture among our staff in both academic and administrative sectors in line with the University Strategy 2018-2023.”

 

The innovation and creativity incubator fosters cooperation with educational, research institutions and public sectors organizations to support innovative initiatives.  Furthermore, the incubator contributes to building an institutional learning system that enables national cadres to overcome stereotyped performance and reach creativity and innovation through the development and adoption of policies to improve institutional performance by implementing innovative methodologies in all areas of work.  

It is worth mentioning that KAHRAMAA seeks to provide innovative environment in the framework of its eagerness to support and enhance the work of Qatar University in various fields related to science, creativity and innovation,

 We target a strategic partnership, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on creativity and innovation cooperation with Qatar University.
