KAHRAMAA participates in Darb Al-Saai’s National Day activities

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) represented in its National Program of Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) has marked its presence in Doha tent and Health tent of Ministry of Public Health at yearly celebrations being held at Darb Al Saai, a distinctive feature of Qatar National Day festivities.

The National day celebrations which will be held from 08- 20th December at Darb Al- Saai will have a number of activities depicting and highlighting the thematic values of conservation and energy efficiency emphasizing the need and importance of reducing electricity and water consumption rate and preserving the precious environment from harmful carbon emissions.    
KAHRAMAA pavilion will have a number of cultural and awareness activities for all age groups of visitors. Speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Somaya Al-Mutawa, Head of the Community Awareness & Development at KAHRAMAA’s Conservation & Energy Efficiency Department said, “We have planned to highlight a number of activities that will help visitors know the types of services rendered by KAHRAMAA aiming to create awareness in the society. Moreover, we would like to define National Program For Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) by highlighting the importance of preserving the blessings of electricity and water through different awareness programs in all sectors via social media channels”.
KAHRAMAA’s booth which has been designed to depict the blending of past with present reflecting glorious Qatar’s Heritage and its boomed modern developments in the arena of electricity and water. The specific layout design of the old Qatari houses in KAHRAMAA’s pavilion reflects the manual ways of getting water such as through the use of well, highlighting lantern as a source of light and Carom as a source of indoor game.
 The modern aspect of the design of the pavilion is being reflected through developments and improvements through the screen depicting Energy generations by visitors’ movement.
KAHRAMAA is also featuring a mobile water laboratory with its slogan ‘Maina Zen’ to exhibit its quality water which is being supplied across the country for drinking purposes. The water quality demonstration was aimed at creating awareness among residents of the country and to know their feedback and suggestion. Apart from the laboratory, maintenance works are also showcased to let the visitors know about the types of small leakages and ways to fix it with little efforts. The other activities at the pavilion are concerning types of plumbing fixtures to let the visitors know about the consumptions of water through these fixtures, about small electricity generation methods among others.
Speaking at the occasion, Miss. Moza Salem Al Mesef, an official at Conservation & Energy Efficiency Department, said, “Our activities include two sessions of theatrical performances for children in Health Tent at Darb Al-Saai. The Morning session will be related with awareness, cultural competitions and performance shows while the evening session will have different activities such as answering queries regarding electricity and water conservation and other allied topics”.    
Darb Al-Saai activities will be open to visitors until the 20th Dec in morning and evening sessions. On its opening day, the event will be open to all from 3 PM to 10 PM for all. On all other days until December 16, Darb Al- Saai will remain open for general masses from 8 AM to 12 PM while evening sessions will be exclusively for families except Fridays which will be open for all from 2 PM to 11 PM. On 17th December, the morning session will be for all while evening session will only be confined to ladies. Darb Al- Saai will be open for families on 18th December, National Day of Qatar from 2 PM to 11 PM. The very next day on 19th December, the event will be open for general masses in both sessions while the last day 20th December, the morning session will be for general masses and evening session will be only for families.
It is worth mentioning that the ongoing National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency “Tarsheed” is aimed at raising awareness and linking past with the present to promote the conservation culture to achieve envisaged sustainability goals and objectives of Qatar National Vision (QNV 2030).
